“Bullies Should be Rehabilitated, not Punished” is more on the side of the bully and how to help them to not be bullies, for example it talks about “rather than adopting a punishing attitude towards bullies, it would be much more productive and responsible for educators and parents to implement a corrective program.” (Hanson, 2016) Their main goal is to help these bullies to understand why they are being bullies and to help them to stop and not just stop but to realize why they should stop. Where as in “Bullying can be Prevented by Empowering Victims” it is more tailored to the victim and how to help them cope with being bullied. As said in the article “victims need to know that they have a right to be free from bullying, but they also have the right to learn skills to protect themselves.” (Junyk, 2016) As said before the main difference between the two articles is the perspective in which they are written and within that it makes the majority of the article different from one …show more content…
When it comes to the topic of bullying, the best way to prevent it is to stop it at the source, the bully. A said in “Bullies Should be Rehabilitated, not Punished” “Bullies need to understand their behaviour is wrong….and that there are alternative outlets for handling anger.” (Hanson, 2016) This meaning that bullied have to be mad aware of the problem they are causing before they can fix it. The article also starts that, “since bullies are made, not born, rehabilitation is an attainable and preferable alternative to resorting to harsh reprimands or turning a blind eye.” (Hanson, 2016) Proving that bullies are not born that way and there are ways to help prevent the behaviour of bullying in a way other than just punishment.
