We all see the girls on TV and magazines with their whole body shaped to perfection. So much work goes into their “natural look,” but it is so far from natural. Not only do they spend hours getting ready and being retouched, but their body weight is way less than the average female. The models you are seeing on magazines and TV weigh 23% less than what the average woman should weigh (Self-Image/Media Influences). The bodies we are being shown demonstrate exactly why approximately 91% of women are unhappy with their bodies (Body Image). If we are constantly being shown the same “ideal” body type that is very unhealthy, we will naturally start to think that there is something wrong with us when we don’t have that body.
