During my childhood, many of my cousins have been diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD. They have been restricted from many different foods with high amounts of sugar because they became “hyper”. Because of the lack of information about ADHD, children are diagnosed very late and they have not received the proper treatment needed. Today, the Centers for Disease Control or CDC, have been helping spread information about various diseases including ADHD. The website provides types, diagnosis, symptoms, and treatment options for ADHD and many more diseases. While reading the webpage, readers may find specific details about the authors writing and different tools they used to persuade the audience. When analyzing a document, the reader must find details including the audience, the tools used to write the document, and the benefits of the document. Firstly, “CDC is dedicated to building a strong, efficient, and effective public health system in the U.S. that improves the health of Americans while lowering healthcare costs” (About CDC 24-7, 2015). The website’s intended audience is families with diseases, scientists, and people studying a particular disease. This web page focuses on ADHD in children, so the audience will mostly be families with children diagnosed with ADHD. “But inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity are also signs of attention deficit disorder (ADD/ADHD), which can affect your child’s ability to learn and get along with others”…
