Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is known to be a complex mental health disorder that affects children in many ways, such as their success in school and relationships with friends (Healthline, 2015). The faces video describes three symptoms that children with hyperactivity may have suffer from. The first symptoms being that children with ADHD may have a hard time paying attention and focusing on details and at times is unable to complete tasks. When spoken to directly, they understand that they are being spoken to but are not able to repeat back what was said. Other symptoms described by the video is hyperactivity, these children are unable to sit still and are restless. Children with ADHD have a hard time staying in their chair and may have the urge to need to get up and move around. The last symptom is excessive impulsivity, these children have a hard time waiting their turn and are constantly interrupting. Children with ADHD may have a hard time recognizing others essentials and wants. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC, diagnosing a child with ADHD is a process because this disorder shares similar symptoms with other disorders such as depression, anxiety, and other learning disabilities (2015). For this reason it is very important that doctors or clinicians to screen for other learning disorders.
