This essay applies three texts in course ENGLISH 121 G to one of key terms in course vocabulary, enculturation. There are three texts such as Stanley Fish, ‘How To Recognize a Poem When You See One,’ Is There a Text in This Class? , Bell Hooks, 'Keeping Close to Home: Class and Education, ' Living Languages, and Sherman Alexie, The Joy of Reading and Writing: Superman and Me.
To trace back to the sources and to determinate the origin are still curial in this changing society. Through observation, experience, and instruction (both informal and formal), people can know and learn their culture deeply. Besides, human beings may have absorbed or accepted their cultures since they are little. Sometimes, people learn most from their parents, peers, and teachers. The goal is to learn specific rituals, expectations, and the language of the culture in order to be able to function smoothly within it. However, during this process, enculturation, it brings out some causes in different aspects. I am going to analysis three texts which mention or display enculturation in the context and also link with Englishes and hegemony.

To begin with, as a result of the framework caused by backgrounds, people interpret the object at the first place. From Fish 's experiment in the class, literary students unconsciously open their poem-seeing eyes to interpret the names on the blackboard.
