Women Rights On December 10th, 1869 in the the province of Wyoming get first suffrage law passed. Colorado is the first states to give women the right to vote (1893). Finally in 1920 which hasn’t been 100 years yet, women were granted the right to vote by the 19th amendment, over the whole United States.

The first woman to play professional baseball was Virne “Jackie” Mitchell as a pitcher. In Jackie career she struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Mary, Queen of Scots is supposed to be the first woman to play golf in Scotland.
Women In Education The first public school for women was open on 1826 in New York and Boston. The first college for women was located in Massachusetts (Mount Holyoke). In 1852 Harriet Beecher Stowe writes Uncle Tom Cabin that many schools read today.

Some Dilemmas to Title IX There are some issues still caused with Title IX today with gays in sports. Jason Collins surprised the whole sports industry when the Brooklyn Nets(a National Basketball Association) signed him to play on the team. Also the St Louis Rams( a National Football League) drafted Michael Sam to play for them with a 2.65 million contract.
