1. The work that I chose is Andrei Renteria, Fringes (Series of 12), 2017. This piece of work was completed July 7, 2017. You may view this exhibit at the Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin Texas. The medium/materials that were used are twelve large pieces of vellum that are various dimensions. Lithograph crayon, chalk, oil pastel, and car oil. 2. This exhibit consists of twelve sheets of vellum ranging in size from approximately four to seven feet in height and approximately two and a half to three feet wide. Each piece of vellum is fringed at either at the top or the bottom. The exhibit is placed in a muddled fashion taking up the whole length of the wall. Different people are drawn on each vellum. Most of the individuals are blindfolded and bound, some of them just their wrist are tied while others have both their wrist and ankles bound together. All twelve pieces have detailed images of young men and women along with their name and a short gruesome and somewhat graphic story of their death written in Spanish. The detail of the life like images is astonishing. The artist was meticulous with every aspect ranging from their head to their toes. For example, the way the clothing falls to the shape of their bodies the way their hair is placed. The somber expression on the victims faces. The shading is impeccable. You can almost feel the pain that they endured; the images are so realistic. …show more content…

The people were almost life size, some of them were standing up straight, others were on their knees, and in various other positions. I needed to know what was written all around them. I felt compelled to get a better look and try to get an
