Possessing themes like Success and Hollowness; these themes can be related back to today’s society in more ways than one.
Success for generations has meant one thing, and that is one has truly lived out the American Dream. The American Dream being; One they have found their dream job, and are either working at that job or are in a position to obtain the job. Two with the so called dream job comes the great wealth an individual has always wanted. Lastly, for most they have found that special someone in their life, and are in a position to start a family of their own. So what does “Winter Dreams” have anything to do with this?
Well, the main character Dexter, has had a vision of the typical American Dream. Dexter growing up was not in any way low class, but has this idea that he will grow up and become even more wealthy than he already was.
