In society’s daily life, people do not think or predict of what will happen to them and they cannot prevent it from happening. In the novel of Gangsterland the character Sal Cupertine is transforming into a different personality that Sal never had knowledge of how to deal with this type of personality. In the novel the character starts to read and analyze the books that he reads and then apply them to the situation that the character was which was being a jewish rabbi. “In the temple of jewish a rabbi is a Jewish scholar or teacher, especially one who studies or teaches Jewish law” (Rabbi). Therefore, in the novel it shows that rabbi David Cohen is a good decent man that teaches in the jewish community and he is a respected person. As for Sal Cupertine is the guy who killed three undercover agents and was helped to run away, so he would not be captured and put in jail. Nevertheless, one of the F.B.I agents are searching and looking for him to find justice. Both Sal Cupertine and Rabbi David Cohen are the same person, but their personalities and their looks have changed and that is going to effect on the lifestyle that this person is going to live.
Sal Cupertine is a legendary hit man for the Chicago Mafia, known for his ability to get in and out of a crime without a trace. Until now, that is.
