The reason for this Rbi is to inform the reader of accountability, the duties of NCO's, and failure to report.

Websters dictionary describes accountability as “the state of being accountable, liable, or answerable” and the DOD describes it as “The obligation imposed by law or lawful order or regulation on an officer or other person for keeping accurate record of property, documents, or funds. The person having this obligation may or may not have actual possession of the property, documents, or funds. Accountability is concerned primarily with records, while responsibility is concerned primarily with custody, care, and safekeeping” and responsibility as “the state or fact of being responsible” respectability. Responsibility is increased when soldiers have a single, clear set of rules that apply to a specific event and when the guidelines are unclear, or when more than one set of rules seems to apply to an event, responsibility is decreased. Accountability is more than just knowing your soldiers in formation. Accountability is knowing that your soldiers physical, mental, and spiritual needs are accounted for and taken into consideration; so they can be more functional as a unit, team, and be mission ready as the legs of the military; as the NCO’s being the backbone. Soldiers must be and act responsibly in every situation they may find themselves in, whether it’s in or out of uniform. Moving on to my next topic: The duties of NCO's.

Obeying an nco is important and what obeying someone means in my own words is to comply with or achive the "objective" regardless of it being restrictions or merely the instructions of that specific person.
The reason it is so important to follow a order from a NCO is beacuse they are trying to benefit your carrier to build you up into a better solider and as a lower enlisted it is my or any other lower enlisted soliders duty to do what is told or asked of them by a NCO. Doing what is told is expected and is part of the job not just only in the US Army but also in any other branch of military service. For someone to not follow a order can lead to big mistakes in a person military career and in the US
