A Government like, the United States, chose a democracy-based government based on its various citizens’ cultures and beliefs. This form of ruling allows its citizen to have various freedoms from things they do not wish to partake. However, not all countries are like this, there are some that force the nation into a religion and base nearly all their laws on that religion’s rules. This type of government is referred to as a Theocracy. One such government is the one in Pakistan. This Theocracy’s religion is prone to male dominancy meaning it usually favors a man over a woman. Male dominated theocracies can change thru open mindedness, time and education for all.
“I Am Malala”, Malala Yousafzai speaks of a man’s world where women are considered less than men. These types of mentality that male dominated societies have subjugate women to unfair treatment and abuse. “Our men think earning money and ordering around others is where power lies. They don’t think power is in the hands of the women who take care of everyone all day long, and give birth to their children (Malala 116).” The quote shows the mindset of a man in a male dominated theocracy. They seem to think just being a man is enough in this world to grant them anything. Malala also describes the women of her culture agreeing with the men about their subjection.
