Uncle Bill is the comedian of the family, and so is Aunt Sue when they are together. Nana made a lowcountry boil for dinner, and after dinner, we all sat by the water and listened to stories about when Uncle Bill, Aunt Sue and Nana were younger. They talked about my great grandmother and grandfather, Mamoo and Papa, who had recently passed away. Once all of the funeral costs were covered, my Nana had enough money left over for all of us to go on a family vacation in their honor. Some of the stories included the various cars that Uncle Bill had had throughout the years and their varying degrees of stability. He told us about how he showed up to summer camp one year in the back of his parents ' car pulling a rope that was tied to the windshield wipers back and forth since they stopped working and it had started pouring rain. At one point while we were all sitting up there in the dark, laughing until our stomachs hurt, a boat with a young guy in it slowly drove by. Abbott, Emily, the twins and our grandparents packed Nana 's "stow and go" minivan with a monstrous stroller and plenty of snacks and left the house. Olive and Ivy seemed to enjoy the Farm.
