Relationship are built on trust and communication, without a solid one, it will collapse. In the play “A Doll’s House,” by Henrik Ibsen, Nora and Torvald had some hidden barriers that with time it became lethal in their relationship. They both had different ideas of each other and when they noticed it---it destroyed them. And the more time they spend together the greater damaged was. Nora and Torvald relationship was destroyed by lies and illusions and the only cure is time apart to find themselves again.

All because her husband wasn’t the man she wanted him to be. She felt betray by Torvald because he did not take her responsibility. She wanted her husband to take the blame which isn’t entirely wrong. Strindberg wrote,” Then comes the tarantella scene, which is introduced in order to throw a distorting light upon Helmer. The audience forgets that Nora is a hussy whom Helmer treats as a sensible woman, and is only allowed to see Helmer treating her merely as a doll.” (849). I agree with Strindberg; many people don’t see is to view the matter from Torvald perspective. After being crystal clear with your wife and thinking thing couldn’t have been better. After all it’s Christmas time and Torvald was getting a promotion… and then boom! Nora does not know who she is anymore because she believes she been living a lie and Torvald is confused on what’s happening. Nora feels the need to leave, to figure out who she is. And she can’t do that with Torvald around because she feels betrayed by him. But ironically, she was the one who betray Torvald. But I don’t think Nora left because of Torvald, I think she left because the stranger she saw wasn’t Torvald… it was herself.
