What are the Key Assumptions of Behaviourism? |
All behaviour is learned from out surroundings and environment. They focus on observable behaviour. Psychology should be scientific and objective. Lab Experiments. Carry out animal experiments and apply results it humans. |

“Learning through consequence” Negative reinforcement- escaping something bad. Positive reinforcement- gaining something good. Skinner’s Box (1953); A cage containing a rat was used. On the side of the cage there was a lever which released a food pellet which encouraged the behaviour to be repeated, this also applied when the lever meant that it would escape the electric floor. |
