Benard Bailyn
-Professor at Harvard and possibly one the greatest living historian alive.
-He developed the conspiracy theory which said the colonists thought the British crown was trying to enslave the colonists and that is why the colonists acted so outlandishly when the British tried to impose new taxes and regulations.
-Emergence of Common Politics theory in Britain but the colonists didnt understand this concept.

-Different groups within parliament which could band together to vote for a certain bill.
-alliances between a group of like minded people who would band together so that a bill would pass.

-Handing out/creating jobs to family members of Parliament or friends of Parliament to ensure your bill would pass.

-People sent to the colonies to collect taxes from the angry colonists.

-Republicanism
-the ideal form of government is not a monarchy but a republic where the people rule through their elected officials.
-not a modern democracy because there was no place for two parties.
