Engine torque over 150% display as red XXX.

Engine starter limits

1. Refer to the engine start envelope. For crossbleed starts, the receiving engine shall be at or above 24% Ng prior to advancing the PCL to IDLE.

2. Engine start with main rotor blades or tail pylon folded is prohibited.

3. The start TGT limit is 851 until idle speed is attained.

Transmission temp

-50-105 continuous (green)

105-120 precautionary (yellow)

120 max (red)

Transmission limitations

The transmission is limited by Nr, torque, oil pressure and temperature. Operation is governed by whichever limit is reached first.

Transmission Temperature limitations

During any operating condition, no maintenance action is required if main transmission temp is in the precautionary range for <5 min.

Prolonged hovering in hot weather (86F/30C) and high GW may cause temp to rise into the precautionary range. Operation in the precautionary range for less than 30 minutes during any 1 flight under these conditions is acceptable and no maintenance action is required.

Transmission pressure

20 psi min (red)

20-30 idle/transient (yellow)

30-65 continuous (Green)

45-60 level flight

65-130 precautionary (yellow)

130 max (red)

Transmission pressure limitations

Any discrepancy shall be documented in a MAF (does not constitute an immediate emergency situation but may be indicative of a degraded lubrication system):

1. Steady pressure outside of 45-60 within 30-65 range

2. Fluctuations not exceeding 10 psi within 30-65 range

3. During steady state/transient nose high pitch attitudes, fluctuations (momentary below 30 and transient below 20 for up to 1 second) are acceptable but shall be limited to 30 minutes.

Engine oil temperature

-50-135 continuous (green)

135-150 30 mins (yellow)

150 max (red)

Engine oil pressure

22 psi min (red)

22-26 precautionary (yellow)

26-100 continuous (green)

100-120 precautionary (yellow)

120 max (red)

Normal idle range is 22-55 psi

Engine start cycles

<16C: 3 cycles followed by 60 seconds disengaged, 4th cycle requires 30 min disengaged.

16-52C: 1st cycle then 60 secs disengaged, 2nd cycle 30 mins.

A cycle is defined as starter initiation, acceleration, and drop out.

Engine motor limits

2 mins starter engaged (ignition off), 5 minutes disengaged. 2 minutes starter engaged, 30 minutes disengaged. (Times cumulative within a 5 minute period)

APU limitations

The APU is not intended for routine in-flight use. Operations in flight shall be limited to essential operations only. Accaptable in-flight use includes emergency procedures, single-engine training, practice autorotations, and powering the ECS during extreme temp operations.

Hovering limitations

1. Prolongued rearward flight and downwind hovering should be avoided to prevent accumulation of exhaust fumes in the helo and heat damage to the window of an open cabin door.

2. Hovering turns at a rate in excess of 30 per sec

3. Dipping sonar ops at altitudes other than 70 ft (deviation may result in damage to dipping sonar equipment due to electrostatic discharge when entering/exiting the water)

4. Do not tow the transducer in the water above 8kgs with array folded or 4kgs with array unfolded (may cause TA separation. Towing is defined as cable contacting the funnel)

AOB limits

Ops above 10k DA - 30

Either PRI SERVO PRESS caution - 30

Boost off flight - 30

Altitude limit

2. Practice full-autorotation landings

3. Intentional approaches into or inducement of retreating blade stall

Rotor brake limits

Max rotor speed for brake application -76 Nr

Routine stops shall be made between 30-50 Nr

Routine stops should be limited to 180 psi
