What is simple sampling |
The sample is randomly selected from a population |
How does stratified random sampling work |
When population has more then one element, this ensures that there will be a representative of each sample Eg 30 samples (20 m 10 f) 4 m are taken and 2 f are taken as samples |
How does systematic sampling work |
Every set interval a sample is collected |
How does grab sampling work |
The lot is dived into clusters and randomly select samples from each cluster |
How does Double sampling procedure work |
If there are more rejects than the limit,re sample and try again and if the second sampling is lower then the reject number accept the lot if not then reject |
How does multiple sampling work |
Same as double sampling but can be more than 2 times |
What is a type 1 error |
When a lot that is mostly acceptable is rejected due to sampling rejecting the lot |
What is another name for type 1risk |
A risk (alpha risk) Producers risk |
What’s a type 2 error |
when a lot full of rejects is accepted cause samples showed that that lot was accepted |
What’s another name for type 2 risk |
Beta risk (b risk ) Or consumer risk |
For oc curve what does it mean to be steeper |
Less Chance of reject |
Acceptance number cause increasing size can increase cost |
Acceptance number cause increasing size can increase cosy |
