The two main probability designs are, probability and nonprobability sampling. Probability sampling know what the exact probability of each selection would be whereas with nonprobability sampling it is unclear. Nonprobability, selecting each sample unit is not known, leaving the selection up to the researcher. In the case of Santé Fe Grill they should rely on probability sampling because each unit is identified. Under probability sampling, there is stratified random sampling. Stratified random sampling involves taking the population and diving them up into even smaller groups, known as strata. These groups will be divide with some they have in common, whether it be income or location. From there they would take random samples from each strata and combine them all into a single target population. By doing this they are ensuring that each sample will be represented, as well as have getting a closure to their required information with less error. Using this …show more content…
From here we could dive them into strata of what type of food people typically eat or what they look for on a menu. Take samples from each strata will help with the larger target population with representation of everyone different taste buds and preference when it comes to ordering food at the restaurant. To determine the sample size for this research we need to determine how precise of a confidence we want with our results, as well as funds available to be utilized for this market research. Anything less than fifty is going to be too small and not give us as precise of an answer we would like. Yet anything over six hundred or seven hundred, may be too costly and not something we could afford to undergo. I believe right around the two hundred and fifty to four hundred area would give us just enough of a precise answer that we are looking for with our being too costly to our
