Precautions |
Assure rhythm is not ventricular in origin.
Explain expected side effects to patient. Monitor patient and ECG continuously. Use with caution for COPD, CHF and CAD pts. Notify BioTel prior to administration if the following are present: Asthma Pt. taking bronchodilators (theophyllline preparations). Seizure pt. taking carbamazepine. Recent caffeine ingestion. |

Light-headedness, flushing, sweating, chest pain, transient asystole nausea/vomiting.

2nd or 3rd degree heart block

-IV has to be large and in the AC for Rapid IV push.
-Half life of 10 seconds. -Can cause short period of asystole. -blocks impulses at the AV node. |
