O: medial epicondyle via common flexor tendon, proximal 2/3rds of ulna I: pisiform, base of fifth metacarpal, hook of hamate A: wrist flexion, ulnar deviation; assists elbow flexion N: ulnar nerve

Flexor carpi radialis: (p. 141) anterior, mostly superficial; starts medial then travels lateral to insertion

O: medial epicondyle via common flexor tendon I: base of second and third metacarpals A: wrist flexion, radial deviation; assists elbow flexion N: median nerve

Palmaris longus: (p. 141) anterior, absent in 21% (genetic); tendon at midline, median n. just lateral

O: medial epicondyle via common flexor tendon I: palmar fascia/aponeurosis (tendon is superficial to flex. retinaculum) A: assistive in wrist flexion; tenses palmar fascia; assists elbow flexion N: median nerve

Posterior Surface: Extensor carpi radialis longus: (p. 135-136); lateral, posterior, superficial

O: lateral supracondylar ridge of humerus I: base of second metacarpal A: wrist extension, radial deviation, assists elbow flexion N: radial nerve

Extensor carpi radialis brevis: (p. 135-136); just medial to ECRL

O: lateral epicondyle via common extensor tendon I: base of third metacarpal A: wrist extension, assists in radial deviation and elbow flexion N: radial nerve

Extensor carpi ulnaris: (p. 135-136) tendon runs in groove between head and styloid process of ulna

O: lateral epicondyle via common extensor tendon I: base of fifth metacarpal A: wrist extension, ulnar deviation N: radial nerve
