The Lord is my rock,my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?

The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Saviour!

1. Rock

2. Fortress

3. Deliverer

God is the Rock

The Rock is living and worthy of our praise

Two: Isaiah 28:16

So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.

Isaiah 28:16 NIV

Three: Deuteronomy 32:4

He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he

Four: 1 Corinthians 10:3-4

They all ate the same spiritual food

and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.

1 Corinthians 10:3‭-‬4 NIV

Five: Exodus 33:18-22

Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.”

And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.”

Then the Lord said "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock.

When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.

Where is the Rock

Six: Colossians 1:15-20

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,

And through him reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Seven: Matthew 7:24-27

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had it's foundation on the rock.

But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand

The rain came down, the streams rose, ams the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.

Eight: 1 Peter 2:4-10

As you come to him, the living stone- rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him-

You also like living stones are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ

For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame"

Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, "The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,"

And, " A stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall." They stumble because they disobey the message- which is also what they were destined for.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Who and Where is the Rock

Nine: Ephesians 2:19-22

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household,

Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone

In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the lord

And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Ten: Daniel 2:34-35, 44-45

While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them.

Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were all broken to pieces and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.

"In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a Kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.

This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands- a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces. "The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and it's interpretation is trustworthy.
