How did John Q. Adams becone president? Explain that process.

John Quincy Adams became president by defeating Jackson. Henry Clay threw support to Adams and he eventually won. He then named Clay Secretary of State.

Explain the Nullification Crisis.

The nullification crisis is the debate over power between states and the federal government was fueled by the tariff debate. Congress passed a bill in 1828 that sharply increased tariffs. The tariffs hit south Carolina very hard and the states economy was in a slump. John Calhoun sympathized with South Carolina because he was from there and his solution was a doctrine of nullification.

They owned prosperous farms and cattle ranches, owned newspapers and some of the children attended missionary school.

They won the case but Georgia and Jackson ignored John Marshall's ruling.

In 1838, federal troops, led by General Winfield Scott forced 16000 Cherokees into camps. They took people from their houses with only the clothes they wore. Many became ill and 4,000 died. Some soldiers considered it murder.

I agree because Andrew Jackson called the Indians children. He made the Indian Treaty commissioner and believed the government could regulate where the Native Americans lived. He view them as conquered people inside the US and said they had to assimilate or move west. He didn't believe they could have their own government within the US borders.
