The book of judges has reccuring theme presented in four major parts |
1. The unfaithfulness of Israel to Yahweh. The Israelites offended the Lord by worshipping and serving the Baals. (Judges 2:11) 2. The Lord’s anger against Israel and how he delivered them to plunderers who despoiled them. (Judges 2:14 ) 3. Amidst the experience of suffering and difficulties Israel cried out to the Lord fro deliverance, sought forgiveness and returned to the Lord (Judges 6:7) 4. Yahweh heard his people’s distressful cries of afflictions under their oppressors. He sent a judge to deliver them from the hands of their tormentors. |

Last chapter of the book of Joshua the people pledge their total commitment to God. but in the book of judges Israel was seen as constantly straying from their covenant with god. |

Samson is portrayed as a human blessed with the grace of god who later disregarded the will of god in order to follow his personal desired and passions. but in the end he repented and offered his life to serve his people. |

Our greatest sin is idolatry not in terms of worshipping false gods but our worship of money and possessions. we allow ourselves to be salves of our possessions We spend our money for useless things not even thinking with the poverty that surrounds us. |
we disregard the poverty and hunger that exist all around us. |
