The JP’s stopped: illegal retaining, poaching, extortion, gambling and unlawful games. In 1489 Henry used parliament to set out procedures for making complaints against JPs. In 1506 he issued a manual for JPs saying their duties and penalties faced if they didn’t comply to them.
