Well according to the national institute on drug abuse, smoking marijuana can hurt brain development in adolescents. This can result in the likeliness to not graduate or go to college, and overall it can hurt your future. |

It can cause higher rates of car crashes and in a study done by,Jayson aydelotte,They found that directly after recreational marijuana was legalized in Colorado and Washington, there was an immediate increase in population-based crash fatality rates.

As you can see in every subsection of crime, there was a noticeable decrease in the crime rate after recreational marijuana was legalized. |

In conclusion, recreational marijuana has a lot of pros and cons that all provide good arguments. In my opinion, I think that there is too much of a risk legalizing it because the long term problems associated with legalization outweighs the benefits. As I mentioned, marijuana comes with many health benefits, and that's why medical marijuana is legalized. My solution to this problem, is to allow for medical marijuana to be sold to anyone, as it has less THC in it than recreational marijuana, and can minimize the problems accompanied by marijuana. |
