Ventricular tachycardia

P wave: none

QRS: wide >0.12

BPM: over 100

How to discern different ectopic rhythms

1. Look at HR (bpm fast? Slow?)

2. Look at P wave

-normal: smooth, rounded, before qrs

-atrial: spiky, positive

-junctional: negative

-ventricular: absent

3. If p wave is absent - look at qrs

-junctional: normal, skinny qrs <0.12

-ventricular: wide >0.12

Call Dr because ventricular tachycardia may begin

If PVCs (premature ventricular complexes) are frequent, what should you do?
