How do you disinfect canteens with calcium hypochlorite?

Fill canteen with clear water (leave an inch of space below the neck of the canteen)


Fill canteen cup half full of water add one ample of calcium hypochlorite stir


Fill cap of a canteen half full of solutions in the cup and add to canteen shake


Loosen cap slightly invert and let treated water leak into threads


Tighten cap on canteen and wait 30 minutes


How to disinfect a five-gallon water can with iodine tablets?

Fill container with with clear water


Dissolve 40 iodine tablets in a canteen cup of water


Add this solution to the five gallons agitate the solution


Place cap on loosely. Wait five minutes, shake and let leakage rinse threads.


Tighten cap and wait 25 minutes

How to disinfect a personal hydration system blatter. Iodine

2 iodine tablets for 40-ounces. 4 iodine tablets for 70 or 72 ounces. 6 iodine tablets for 100 or 102 ounces.


Allow 30 minutes of contact time.


Double dosage or use chlorination kit if cloudy

Disinfect water in a canteen with iodine

Fill canteen with clear water


2 tablets to each one-quart


Put the cap on canteen. Shake


Wait 5 minutes loose. Cap and allow leakage to clean canteen threads


Tighten and wait 25 more minutes
