What is the main absorptive structure within the small intestine?

Villi are small structure protruding from the folds of the small intestinal lining. A villus has microvilli upon it. The central lacteal / lymph vessel, surrounded by a capillary network, allows for the smallest nutrient fragments to be absorbed and circulated.
