Cultural competence:
ability to act with respect and understanding without imposition of our own attitudes and beliefs
Culture:
complex integrated system reflecting the whole of human behavior and experience; a groups adoption of shared values, the attempt to make sense of their world
Subculture:

Stereotype:

Ritual:
stereotypic behavior regulating religious, social and professional behavior (ex please and thank you)
Values:
ideals, customs, institutions and behaviors within a group or subgroup for which members have a respectful regard (ex. Attitudes toward charitable donations, criminal behavior, sexual relationships)
