What are the 4 ways to become a citizen of Singapore?

1. By descent- Requires at least one parent to be a citizen of the country.


2. By country of birth- Must be born in the country


3. By marriage- Must marry a citizen of the country


4. By naturalisation- Have immigrated to the country, lived there for a specific number of years. (Some countries require them to take test)

A system where people choose their representatives in a government.

What is constitution?

It is a collection of rules that determine the creation and operation of the government, it's organs and institutions.

Why is the constitution important?

Ensure that the rights are respected by law and by everyone in the country --> protects the well being of citizens

What are the 4 functions of the constitution?

1. Source of government's power- Constitution sets out the functions and powers of the various government organs such as the Legislature, Executive and Judiciary
