Orgenelle
The smallest structures in a cell, they cary out all the functions in a cell.
Cell Wall
This is a rigid layer of nonliveing matirial. This is mostly found in plant cells and in bacteria. This supports and protects the cell.
Cell Membrane
This orgenell crontrols what substances enter and exit the cell. It is a barrier betweem the cell and it's environment
Nucleus
This is the cells control center. It directs all of the cells activity.
Cytoplasm
This is a gel-like fluid in wich the orgenells are found and are suspended. It is between the nucleus and the cell membrane. It also disolves importent chemicals for life.
Mitocondrion
These orgenells convert the energy in food into energy the cell can use. These need oxigen to convert the energy. This is the reason why we breath.
Endoplasmic Reticulum
These act like passages to carry protien to other parts of the cell. The rough ER transports protine from the ribosomes to the golgi body. It is covered in ribosomes. The smooth ER produces and transports fats throughout the cell
Ribosomes
These produce protien for the cell. They are found in the endoplasmic reticulum. It reads the RNA and uses them to make protien
Golgi Body
This orgenell recives matirials from the rough ER sorts them, packages them, and sends them to other parts of the cell like: outside the cell, the membrane, the lysosome.
Chloroplasts
These are the site of photosythesis in which they capture energy from the sunlight and CO2 and use it to produce food. Oxygen end up as a waste product These are only found in plant cells.
Vacule
These store food, water, and waste. Animal cells have many small ones and plant cells have one large one.
Lysosomes
These brake down food and worn down parts of the cell. They contains digestive enzymes.
Nuclear Envelope
This surrounds the nucleus and pertects the chromation. Alows matirials to pass in and out through pores.
Chromation
Contains genetic material (DNA) which has the instructions for the cell. These instructions are called genes. It also has copies of genes wich are called RNA.
Nucleolus
This is a spot of condensed chromation. It manufactures ribosomes.
