Salicylate overdose (aspirin) due to initial respiratory stimulation(resp alkalosis) and then metabolic acidosis due to the metabolite salicylic acid.




Mx = Charcoal, sodium bicarbonate urinary alkalisation and haemodyalisis (if salicylate concentration > 700)
