Lord of the Flies is a novel that displays this incorrectly because it teaches outdated ideas of masculinity. Golding’s novel may be entertaining but has a darker meaning that the reader might not be able to correctly pick up on. He uses the worldwide problem and emphasises it. Because of that, the novel distributes incorrect ideas and encourages the reader to act in the animalistic manner. An example that Golding uses to express this concerning matter is when Roger, a ‘bigun’ in jacks tribe squashes Piggy with the boulder.
