Huck found himself in a fight between the two wealthiest families, and one of their daughter, Sophia Grangerford, happens to be in love and ran away with the enemy’s son, Harney Shepherdson. The irony happens when her brother, Buck & another Grangeford went in a gunfight with the Shepherdsons and both of them were killed. The whole scenario struck me as if Huck was the witness stuck in between the world famous fight between the Montague and Capulets once again. Literature works could be inspired by others, but it was a clever way to remake the entire story into two chapters, with our main character being the witness stuck in between the pages. The irony lays where they fight each other for family honor, so foolish that they would kill each other right away, but they go to church together. Huck hid away the money that the con men scammed from the Wilks sisters and revealed the truth to the sisters after he felt “ashamed of the human race” seeing the duke and dauphin faulk actions. Even though he has made a strong step to stand against the wrongs, he did hesitate a lot and not do anything until this point of time. It is understandable for Huck that he is conscious of the safety for Jim and himself. He has not grown much out of the shell because the world is still a midst of confusion for him. He has made his great move against living in the cruel society by sailing to find Jim at whatever cost to free Jim from slavery, even when that against what society raised him to believe.
