The disregard for preservation of nature is negatively impacting the health of indigenous peoples in Ecuador; By doing nothing to help, companies invested in oil and other resources prove their indifference towards indigenous lives. The drinking water is totally contaminated, it smells like oil and gasoline (Berlinger). Native peoples continue to suffer from contamination because their environment is polluted with corporate greed. The consideration for the sanctity of nature is repeatedly succeeded by the desire for money. "...environmental disasters which exacerbate the vulnerability of ecosystems and people who are poor...."…
In course with Mauritius’ independence from Britain, the Chagos Archipelago (ceded to Britain by France) was made into a separate territory, the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), for it to be depopulated . Additionally, the principal island Diego Garcia was to be leased to the United States as a military base . This was accomplished through the use of prerogative powers. The actions of Aya refers to the term reprisal, an act that is a violation of international law but that is permitted as a response to another nation’s violation of international law. In page 228, when Iranian radicals took U.S. diplomats hostage with the support of Iranian government, this was clear violation of international law. In response, U.S can also violate International law that would directly harm Iran. When Iran was at war, Iraq used chemical weapons. When Iran protested that its rights are violated, no nation showed sympathy because it was the first one to violate the law.…
Looking at all the humanitarian rights violations in the world, there are multiple different events in the history where the violations have crossed the line, however, no country decided to stand up against the violation whereas, other times even the smallest violations has had support of multiple countries. Why is there such discrimination between countries? Is it because of allies or other political reasons? The only reason countries will violate their and other countries sovereignty is because of its personal interests. Political interests in helping the countries that benefit their country tremendously even though there is a threat to them in the future.…

The purpose of this paper is to further examine the three main prongs of Union Carbide’s strategy and their relation to ethical decision-making. These prongs are as follows.…
In an ethical manner, it is not morally right to endanger another person 's life in order to make a profit, as it creates more harms than benefits. Companies are dumping dangerous and hazardous products on overseas markets and it should be in the company’s best interest to consider the health and safety of the people and animals. Therefore, the companies acted immorally by dumping harmful products. In essence, dumping refers to the procedure of exporting products that have been banned dangerous in the US, to other countries, mainly third world countries. The harms clearly outweigh the benefits, as these manufactures are knowingly dumping dangerous products available to third world countries.…

He accompanied Guy Scott, Vice President of Zambia, to the Mopani Copper Mines and interviewed Emmanuel Mutati, chairman of Mopani Mines. When Guldbrandsen asked him about the suspension of the plant and the air pollution the plant was fabricating, Mutati responded in an offensive way. He claimed he didn’t know why ZEMA, the Zambian Environmental Management Agency, took the action of suspension, so Mopani Mines challenged them. The plant was soon reopened, but now the issue of air pollution and acid contaminating Zambia’s drinking water was in full effect again. When Guldbrandsen asked Mutati if the plant’s regulations were meeting W.H.O.’s, the World Health Organization, guidelines, he went around the question and only mentioned that they were following ZEMA’s regulations and that is all that mattered.…
