Informative Essay: What Causes Divorce?

Why Divorce? Divorce is a process to legally end a marriage between two people. Divorce transpires too often in the United States. In 2011 alone, eighty-eight thousand divorces took place (Statista). Divorce can lead to children with mental diseases, not to mention legal fights between the former spouses over property and money. Divorce tears families apart and causes loved ones to become distant. Why would one want a divorce? What causes a marriage between to people to dissipate and cause them to want to separate? What causes divorce? Divorce can occur for many reasons. The most common reasons for divorce include everyday problems such as miscommunication, growing apart, and not getting enough attention from the spouse (Hawkins, Willoughby, and Doherty, 461). Trust also plays a large part in the longevity of a relationship. These things can occur any time throughout the marriage. All of these feelings can build over a long period of time and cause for the want of separation. Communication is a key to a long lasting relationship, and without it, divorce is probable.
