In the epic of Gilgamesh, it can be viewed that Enkidu, a peaceful beast living without fear and pain became a victim of the horrors and pain of the world. His transformation by singing, wearing clothes and bathing with the help prostitutes became a profound question as to what is the meaning of life and how can humans be differentiate from animals.

After Enkidu’s death, Gilgamesh became afraid, lost courage realized that he is not immortal thus went on the journey, crossing ocean to find the immortality. Epic of Gilgamesh focused on various trait of women in a male dominated society. Female roles is to reproduce offspring, help in the transformation of men as seen with Enkidu and the prostitute, and also help in the quest of male’s vision as seen in the care Gilgamesh’s mother and Gilgamesh.
Even though women are to support men in the dominated society yet not all women agrees to the norms.
