Since July 1,2014 the Emergency services has had 11,382 food pantry vouchers distributed, 89.7% of clients who received utility assistance through Plus-1 between July and December 2015 were still connected 90 days, and out of those people 81.3% were still connected six months later.Also add to this was for every $1 in assistance provided, MIFA prevents $1.92 in uncollectable utility debt from being passed on to MLGW consumers. This helped people living in a home where maybe they were going to lose or couldn't maintain their home services with their income as low as it was.This program has help many of people with the time that it has had and is still helping people today.The other sub-program within the family services program is the Rapid Rehousing & Emergency Shelter Placement Plan.This program prevents homelessness by helping eligible families quickly obtain permanent stable housing or secure temporary shelter if homelessness cannot be avoided through mediation. Since July 2014, more than 2,847 families requested housing assistance,1,501 were served through mediation or diversion efforts by MIFA staff, 532 families were referred to shelters,and 167 families were rapidly rehoused.That’s
