HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS (HPV)
What is HPV? HPV is short for human papillomavirus and is a group of more than 100 related viruses. Each HPV virus is assigned a number which is called HPV type. HPV is a name for warts. Some HPV can cause cancer. There are more than 40 HPV types that can infect the genital area of male and females. But there are some vaccines that can prevent infections with the most common types of HPV.
HPV can be transmitted through intimate skin to skin contact. You can also get HPV by having vaginal, anal or oral sex with someone who already has the virus. When I researched HPV it looks like it’s mainly transmitted through vaginal and anal. Majority of the people will receive HPV even if they have sex with only one person.

In certain situations surgery may be necessary and there are a couple different types of surgery that could be done to remove the warts. The most common surgery is laser therapy which is a method where doctors use a light beam to remove warts in abnormal areas.
The HPV virus lives in mucous membrane’s such as genital areas or on the skin. If the warts shows up it’s an indication that you have the HPV infection. Genital warts show up weeks or even months after having sexual contact with a person that’s infected. Some side effects of hpv is redness, Bruising, itching, swelling, pain and headaches.
I know a lot of people wonder if hpv can be diagnosed and how. Well the appearance of genital warts is one way hpv infection is diagnosed. A doctor simply does a visual inspection. When a woman visits the doctor, the doctor will usually give the female a Pap smear test. If a female is infected with any type of hpv that can possibly cause cancer.
