Throughout this section of George Orwell’s Animal Farm, Roxanne and I have observed the growing power of Napoleon the pig, and the steady downfall of the Animal Farm society. As time progresses since the day of liberation from Mr. Jones, Napoleon has stepped up as a leader of the farm. However from the start, Napoleon has demonstrated that he desires power above his concern for the good of the other animals. As a result of Napoleon’s obsession with control, the state of the farm has gradually deteriorated. The animals are starving due to minimal rations and the presence of fear and paranoia has filled the atmosphere. Still, Napoleon uses several techniques to keep structure within the farm.
