Friday was the day that I would finally get to meet Rick for the very first time. I had butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it and I was a little anxious. I ran around all day like a chicken with its head cut off; my sister, Catherine, most definitely noticed and it stirred up questions. Knowing how I am she interrupted me right before I was about to leave for the gym and she asked, “Jessica, what in the world is wrong with your butt today?” I did not know what to tell her at all. I literally just peered at my sister with an innocent little look, and sauntered off as if nothing had ever happened. When I got in my car, I could hear my heart pounding in my ears because of how terrified I was to tell my sister what was going to happen that night. Richard, or Rick for short, is twenty-seven years old and I, on the other hand, was only eighteen. I had just recently graduated from high school the week before and I did not know how my mother and stepfather would feel about the gigantic age gap. Rick and I had only been talking for a day or two before we decided to set the date. We met in a very unconventional way compared to how most people would meet. We met on an online dating/social site that I had for a few years; when I received the very first message from him, I knew deep down in my heart that he was the one for me already.
