In the book the writer seeks to explain ethics from a philosophical and a Christian’s perspective.
In chapter one, Grenz spoke about the different theories that seek to define morality and ethics, even though he sought to explain ethics, he made a very clear point. He stated that “although ethics and morality may not be completely synonymous, to set up too strict a distinction between the two is probably arbitrary.” In making this statement Grenz I believe was saying that many individuals view ethics and morality interchangeably. From my understanding of reading this chapter, you do not necessarily have to be a Christian or a philosopher to understand and use ethics in everyday living and practices. From my understanding, it is seen that morality and ethics does not only come from a theological standpoint but it can also be viewed as a part of philosophy.
