The first being “what is the intention of the person(s) preforming the action” (DelMonico, TRS100, Week 11a/11b, Slide 8) meaning what is the purpose and desired outcome? After that the question of “what is the way the person(s) achieve the intention” (DelMonico, TRS100, Week 11a/11b, Slide 8) arises which asks how did someone reach their end goal? Finally, “what else is going on and how does it impact the end or the means” (DelMonico, TRS100, Week 11a/11b, Slide 8) this question takes a look at the circumstances and whether they justify one’s actions or not.
These questions arise when looking at Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s boycott in Birmingham.
