“The human body,” many of us don’t nearly realize what happens throughout the body, and if I’m being honest, neither did I, up until I took Anatomy and Physiology in high school and my freshman year of college. It is truly amazing, how many systems and functions one’s body has; from the smallest of molecules to the largest of organs, all working together to keep the one going. The entire body is made up of cells, all working hard making sure everything is working accordingly. From making swift movements of our body, to undergoing mitosis in order to keep our body going. There are eleven major systems the body has, each having their own function and anatomy, we still don’t know everything about these systems, however we do know a lot about them. Learning the anatomy and the physiology of a system isn’t as simple as one would think, in this paper I will be explaining the structure and function of the muscular system. …show more content…
However, muscle fibers have vital physical features that develop two distinct types of fibers. The fast twitch, also known as type ii fibers, and slow-twitch fibers or type i fibers (Bidle, 2016). Muscles are also put in “compartments” a muscle compartment is known as, “a group of functionally related muscles enclosed and separated from others by connective tissue fascia.” (Sullivan & Gan, 2015).
