Level -2 of hierarchy is Abusive Interaction: Sexual dominance and coercion is used and self-esteem of partner may be damaged. Level -3 of the model is Violent Interaction. This level is what serial killers operate at. They seek complete control and sexual energy is used to express rage and hostility (Baur, 2011,2008). The definition of sexual abuse is “any action that pressures or coerces someone to do something sexually they don 't want to do. It can also refer to behavior that impacts a person 's ability to control their sexual activity or the circumstances in which sexual activity occurs, including oral sex, rape or restricting access to birth control and condoms” (Love is Respect.org, 2014).
Make sure teens fully understand that sexual abuse can be: unwanted kissing or touching, rough or violent sexual activity, rape or attempted rape, refusing to use condoms or restricting someone’s access to birth control, keeping someone from protecting themselves from sexually transmitted infections (STIs), sexual contact with someone who is very drunk, drugged, unconscious or someone who is unable to give a clear “yes” or “no” answer, coercing someone into unwanted sexual activity, repeatedly pressuring someone to have sex or perform sexual acts and repeatedly using sexual insults toward someone. Stressing to teens that they have the right to decide what they want to do with their bodies. Individuals who are sexually abused may know the abuser; both men and women can be victims…
