The dictionary meaning of Ethics is ”the rules of conduct recognised to a particular class of human action, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and ends of such actions.” “thou shalt not kill” this is from the 10 commandment in the bible which reflects the contemporary ethical issue I will be discussing the church 's response about called Euthanasia. Mercy killing is another name for Euthanasia. The dictionary meaning of Euthanasia is “the act of putting to death painlessly or allowing to die, as by withholding extreme medical measures, a person or animal suffering from an incurable, especially a painful, disease or condition.” Euthanasia is used when a person can no longer stand the unbearable pain or has the right to commit suicide and if a person should not be forced to stay alive. “Moral Relativism (or Ethical Relativism) is the position that moral or ethical proposition do not reflect objective and/or universal moral truths, but instead make claims relative to social, cultural, historical or personal circumstances.” this is applied to Euthanasia.
