One controversial topic that has come up recently is euthanasia of people today. This topic has been highly discussed and debated over for a few years now. Personally, I believe that with certain limitations, euthanasia should be legalized in the United States. it can not only help the patients but the families both morally and financially as well.
Many patients in hospitals actually ask for euthanasian or assisted suicide when they have severe, untreatable conditions or are too sick or old to do anything by themselves. Why should it be okay to put animals down when they are too ill or old to move but for people they must live in suffering? "The right of a competent, terminally ill person to avoid excruciating pain and embrace a timely and dignified death bears the sanction of history and is implicit in the concept of ordered liberty." (Top 10 Pros and Cons). This shows that it is a persons choice to chose if they want to be euthanized when they are terminally ill or dying already.
