Boeing states that all their major cabin features are tested to make sure that they do not hinder the in-flight entertainment. However this does not take away the fact that with the advancement of technology, it is possible for hackers to get into the system and take control of the planes operations. The Dreamliner operates on a fiber optic data bus for networking which is connected on the same system as the aircrafts control, navigation, and communication system. M, Loveless (2007) a networking security analyst, states his concerning by saying, “This isn’t a desktop computer. It’s controlling the system that are keeping people from plunging to their deaths. So I hope they are really thinking about how to get this right”. Some experts have even gone as far as trying to advise the airline on how to adjust some of their systems functions, such as K, Zetter (2015) in a an article were she stated the following, “A better design is to gap critical systems from non-critical ones – that is to physically separate the networks so that a hacker on the plane cant bridge from one to the other”. Which I must say is a valid point, due to the fact that terrorism is becoming a daily reality all over the world and these people will go to any lengths to make a the point that they believe in, regardless of the lives
