1. Introduction Imagine how our lives would be without light bulbs? We would probably still be using candles, gas lamps, or even bonfires to illuminate our nights. Light bulbs have become crucial for our daily life. Before the invention of the light bulb, lightening up the world after the sun went down was difficult. The invention of the electric light bulb changed the world. It changed human existence by illuminating the night and making it hospitable to a wide range of human activities. It was the infrastructure that was built to provide electricity to every home and business that changed the world. Today, our world is filled with powered devices that we can plug in pretty much anywhere thanks to the light bulb. The purpose of this report is to evaluate the best two types of energy efficient bulbs in today’s global market. It also provides a recommendation on which is the best option based on the following categories: function, cost, performance, and environmental impact. The invention of the light bulb in the 19th century was a big milestone for the human race. Light bulbs are still in use now, over two hundred years after they were invented. Thomas Edison is known for creating the first commercially practical incandescent light bulb for home illumination. His first light bulb in 1879 was able to last for 40 hours thanks to the carbon filament he implemented.
