Asthma can be defined as a persistent inflammatory disorder that is linked up with physiological abnormalities in the airways, which can be a variable airflow limitation and airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR). The physiological uneasiness in the airways can be variable symptoms like chest tightness, shortness of breath, cough or wheeze. In some case, these symptoms can be mild or even absent, and, on the other hand, the symptoms can be severe and worsen acutely which leads to an asthma exacerbation. (1) Asthma can be developed through inherited allergies, atopy, exposure to certain allergens, viruses and irritants in early childhood when the immune system is still evolving. (2) Like every other ailment, asthma have triggers which induces an asthma attack. These triggers are house dust, pollen, molds, animal fur, cockroaches, chemical fumes and vigorous physical workout. An asthma attack is occur when a sudden inflammation triggers the symptoms by causing muscles tightening in the airways. The attack varies in severity and frequency, the attack normally lasts for around 10 to 15 minutes, an hour or even days. (3) There are different ways to handle asthma, this includes avoiding and identifying allergens which trigger the symptoms.
